Laurent, the founder of Albatross Lawyers, is a dual French-Australian citizen who migrated from Paris (France) to Australia in 2001 and has a “hands-on” understanding of the migration process. He was admitted in the legal profession as a solicitor by the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2008 and has worked both in-house and in law firms.
He has been actively involved for more than 15 years in the franchising industry for a chain of food retail outlets in several continents, from Australia-Pacific to the Middle East and the Americas. His duties ranged from legal services to a full operational CEO position in the USA.
During his earlier career, Laurent has led a business broking department for a major Australian commercial real estate company. He worked also in the legal advisory and wealth portfolio management department of a large real estate developer in the Middle East.
He holds a double degree in Laws and Commerce (double majors in Management & International Business) from Bond University (Queensland). He obtained his Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from QUT (Queensland) and is a fully licensed (not active) real estate agent from REIQ (Queensland). He is a member of the Law Society of Tasmania (LST), former member of the Queensland Law Society (QLS), member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA), former member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), and a member of several other professional associations or alumni. Laurent is recognised by the Department of Home Affairs as a Migration Legal Practitioner (LPN 5511913). He is fluent in both English and French, intermediate Spanish and has good notions of Japanese and Mandarin.
Socially, Laurent is a Board Member (21-22) and President elect (22-23) of the Rotary Club of Sandy Bay. He is the past Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Griffith Gold Coast (18-20). He is a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International.
He is also a volunteer fire fighter for the Channel Brigade in Tasmania.
